Report on Themes from Our Children, Our Future: Getting It Right

The report summarizing the input received by the Alberta government through the Our Children, Our Future: Getting It Right consultation on Alberta's education system is now available online. Input from the consultation has been taken into account in new legislation to govern Alberta's education system and will be kept in mind in the drafting of the regulations and policy that support it.

Concerns and ideas raised during the consultation, as well as in conversations with parent councils and education stakeholders, also informed the development of a 10-point plan for Alberta's education system, which was announced on January 10.

The summary report prepared by KPMG provides a compilation of themes that students, parents, teachers, school support staff and community members felt are important in improving the student experience.   It reflects the opinions and comments that were received and analyzed by the department as they arrived by way of community meetings, the department website, e-mail, Facebook, Twitter or mail.
